Marking the Queen’s 60 years on the British throne, the Diamond Jubilee is a celebration of all things British, most importantly the Queen herself. This weekend England’s leading lady will kick off a four-day extravaganza complete with a carriage procession, 1000 boats on the River Thames and a rock concert in Hyde Park, just down the road from Buckingham Palace.

Preparations are already in action: thousands of Britons woke up to find their streets had been decorated with bunting in the dead of night, Jubilee line tube trains have been covered in illustrations celebrating the Queen’s reign and it is 100% impossible to walk 10 metres without sighting a Union Jack. We have no doubt that the Duchess of Cambridge is carefully ironing her selection of outfits right now.

The MiH Team have lots of plans: some people will be celebrating on boats on the Thames, watching as the Queen sails past, others will be joining street parties in the countryside, whilst the less patriotic are hopping on the first flight out of here. Indubitably we will all have a glass of champagne in our hands. To the Queen!
